Welcome to SYNQ, a platform operated by Tahoma Incorporated (“Tahoma,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). We are committed to protecting your personal data and your privacy. This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how we collect, use, share, and protect the personal information of our users—whether you are an event organizer, ticket buyer, or simply browsing our website and/or mobile application.
Please read this Policy carefully. By using SYNQ, you acknowledge that you understand and agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
1. SCOPE & ELIGIBILITY
1.1 Who We Are
Tahoma Incorporated is a U.S. corporation (Delaware C-Corp) providing the SYNQ platform for online ticketing, event management, and audience analytics.
1.2 U.S.-Only Services
At this time, we only offer the SYNQ platform in the United States. We do not currently operate in the European Union, UK, Canada, or other international markets.
1.3 Age Restriction
Our platform is intended for individuals 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If you believe a child under 18 has provided us with personal data, please contact us at support@getsynq.io.
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We collect various types of information, including:
2.1 Personal Information You Provide
- Account & Profile Data: Name, email address, phone number, profile photo(s), user-generated biography, and other details you choose to provide when creating or updating a SYNQ account.
- Event Organizer Data: If you are an event organizer, we may collect your business details (e.g., legal entity information, payment/banking details via third-party processors) to facilitate payouts.
- Imported Fan Contacts: Organizers may upload or import phone numbers, email addresses, or other contact details of their fans or existing customer lists (“Imported Contacts”) into SYNQ. Organizers are responsible for ensuring they have proper consent to upload and use these contacts for marketing or other purposes.
- Payment Information: We use third-party payment processors (e.g., Stripe) to handle transactions. While we may store basic transaction records (e.g., transaction ID, date, and amount), we do not store full credit card details.
2.2 Automatically Collected Data
- Location Data: With your permission, our mobile app may continuously collect your device’s location to suggest nearby events and enhance user recommendations. You can opt out of location services at any time by adjusting your device settings, but this may limit location-based features.
- Cookies & Tracking Technologies: We use cookies, web beacons, and similar tools on our website to remember your preferences, analyze usage, and improve our services. We may use third-party analytics services such as Google Analytics.
- Device & Usage Information: IP address, device type, browser information, timestamps, pages viewed, and other technical data that help us secure and optimize our platform.
2.3 Photos & Potential Biometric Analysis
- Profile Photos / Event Photos: You may upload a profile photo to personalize your user account. If you are an event organizer, you may also upload images or promotional materials.
- Demographic Analysis: We may use automated tools to approximate demographic attributes (e.g., age range, gender) from user-uploaded photos. We do not use facial recognition to identify specific individuals, but we may use algorithms to generate non-identifying demographic insights.
2.4 Third-Party Integrations
- Marketing & Analytics Partners: We may share user data (PII or aggregated) with select partners to enhance user experiences, run analytics, or conduct marketing campaigns.
- Social/Contact Matching: With your consent, we may sync your phone contacts to suggest friends or highlight mutual connections on SYNQ. You can adjust privacy and visibility settings in your account.
3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Providing and Improving Our Services:
- Facilitating ticket sales and event registrations.
- Optimizing search results, event recommendations, and machine learning models.
- Allowing event organizers to manage attendee lists and analytics.
- Marketing & Communications:
- Sending you (or enabling event organizers to send you) marketing messages via email, SMS, push notifications, or in-app messaging.
- Segmenting audiences and personalizing promotions or event recommendations.
- Respecting unsubscribe or opt-out requests at both the platform and organizer level.
- Analytics & Machine Learning:
- Aggregating data across events to identify trends, “tastemakers,” and general audience behavior.
- Developing new features, improving user experience, and training AI models.
- Location-Based Services (If Opted In):
- Showing nearby events, location-specific recommendations, or real-time updates.
- Security & Fraud Prevention:
- Detecting, investigating, and preventing fraudulent transactions or unauthorized activity.
- Retaining data, even after an organizer requests deletion, if we believe it’s necessary for legal compliance or security reasons.
- Legal Compliance:
- Complying with applicable laws, regulations, and lawful requests.
4. HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION
We share user data in the following circumstances:
- With Event Organizers:
- If you purchase a ticket or engage with a specific organizer’s event, that organizer will receive the attendee data needed to manage the event.
- Organizers can import or export attendee data (e.g., fan lists) from SYNQ, subject to their own data handling practices.
- With Third-Party Service Providers:
- For payment processing (e.g., Stripe).
- For analytics, hosting, email/SMS marketing, AI/ML services, or customer support tools. These partners may receive PII depending on the service provided.
- Aggregate or De-Identified Data:
- We may share anonymized or aggregated data with record labels, A&R teams, or other business partners for marketing or research. This data does not identify you personally.
- Future Partnerships:
- We may expand partnerships or features to share cookie-based or other analytics data with advertisers or marketing platforms. We will update this Policy if such sharing becomes significant.
- Legal or Regulatory Compliance:
- To comply with a valid subpoena, court order, legal process, or request from government or law enforcement, when necessary to protect our rights or the rights of others.
- Business Transfers:
- In connection with an actual or potential merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets, where user data may be transferred to the acquiring entity.
5. DATA RETENTION
We store your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. Specifically:
- Tickets & Transaction Data: Retained indefinitely for record-keeping, analytics, and fraud prevention unless legally required to delete.
- User Accounts: Maintained until you request deletion or become inactive; we may still retain certain data for compliance or legitimate business reasons.
- Organizer-Imported Contacts: Organizers can remove their imported data, but SYNQ may retain back-end copies for legal, security, or auditing purposes.
We are in the process of establishing an automated data deletion or anonymization protocol for inactive accounts, but it is not yet fully implemented.
6. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS & CHOICES
- Opt-Out of Marketing:
- You can unsubscribe from email marketing by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in the email footer.
- You can opt out of SMS campaigns by replying with “STOP,” “QUIT,” “UNSUBSCRIBE,” “OPT-OUT,” or “CANCEL.”
- In-app notification preferences can be managed in your account settings.
- Access, Deletion, or Correction Requests:
- If you are a California (or other applicable state) resident, or otherwise wish to exercise your data rights, please contact us at support@getsynq.io.
- We will process your request in accordance with applicable laws, recognizing that in some cases, we may retain data for fraud prevention or legal compliance.
- Location Sharing:
- You can disable location services at any time in your device settings. If disabled, location-based features may be limited.
- Cookie Preferences:
- You can adjust browser settings to refuse cookies or indicate when a cookie is being sent. Some features may not function properly if you disable cookies.
- Profile & Visibility Controls:
- You can set your profile to be publicly visible or private. You can also choose whether to display your event attendance history, block certain users, or restrict phone contact matching.
7. SECURITY MEASURES
We employ reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your data, including encryption in transit and controlled access systems. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you suspect unauthorized access or a security breach, please contact us immediately at security@getsynq.io.
8. THIRD-PARTY LINKS & SERVICES
SYNQ may include links to third-party websites or services not operated by us. This Policy does not apply to those external services, and we are not responsible for their content, privacy policies, or practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party service you visit or use.
9. USER-GENERATED CONTENT & PUBLICITY RIGHTS
- User Submissions: If you upload or post photos, videos, or other content to our platform (e.g., for an event promotion), you grant us a license to use and display that content for SYNQ-related purposes (e.g., marketing the event or platform).
- Rights of Publicity: Please ensure you have rights and permissions to any images or personal likenesses you upload. We reserve the right to remove content that violates others’ privacy or publicity rights.
10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, services, or legal requirements. If we make material changes, we will notify you (e.g., via email or a prominent notice within our platform) before such changes take effect. The date at the top of this page indicates the most recent update.
